The Aorere Museum of Art holds works of national significance — abstract, spiritual, land-rooted art from New Zealand, the United States and beyond — housed in a Category 1 Historic building at the edge of Mohua, Golden Bay. This is not a gallery you stumble upon; it is a gallery you make a journey for.
A landmark collection of New Zealand modernism and abstraction alongside nature photography, in dialogue with international abstract artists and the landscape photography of Ansel Adams, Eliot Porter — extending into a sculpture garden, on permanent display.
